Hello everyone!

Congratulations on finishing the first week of classes! On behalf of the Undergraduate Association (UA) – whose officers you might have seen on the UA’s Instagram<https://www.instagram.com/ua_mit/?hl=en> this week – it is my pleasure to share our warmest welcome to our first-years and a welcome back to all returning students :)

If you didn’t have a chance to stop by our booth at Activities Midway, the UA is your undergraduate student government and our only goal is to improve student life. We work towards this goal through nine committees<http://ua.mit.edu/committees> whose projects and initiatives cover all aspects of student life including: Community & Diversity, Community Service, Education, Financial Board (student group funding), Innovation, Involvement, Public Affairs, Student Support & Wellness, and Sustainability. As part of David (UA President) and Shruti’s (UA Vice President) UA For You platform<http://ua.mit.edu/ua-for-you-platform>, student life issues such as community, mental health, DEI, climate justice, and more are a priority for the 54th administration of the UA.

With the Fall semester starting up, the UA is excited to meet you, advocate for your needs, and support your communities! Our application to join a committee will be opening soon so please be on the lookout if you’re interested in joining us! Regardless, we hope to see you at the events we plan to host throughout the year, starting with Trash to Treasure, next Sunday from 11 AM – 5 PM in Lobby 10.
