Hi Undergrads!
Are you interested in driving change in community service, DEI efforts, public affairs or club funding allocations at MIT? Are you looking to get more involved in student government at MIT? The UA is looking for committee chairs for the Committees on Community Service, Community & Diversity, Financial Board and Public Affairs. By being a committee chair, you have the opportunity to lead projects and teams within the UA and interface directly with senior administration on topics that are important to you and the MIT community. The Committee on Community Service promotes undergraduates’ involvement in public service throughout their MIT careers by considering the following three facets: Investigating the challenges that students face when pursuing their interests in service on and off campus, Bringing together students, organizations, and offices on campus in an effort to create a more cohesive service ecosystem at MIT and Improving accessibility to and support for service from local and international opportunities.
The Committee on Community & Diversity has the goal of both fostering a widespread and powerful sense of community throughout the undergraduate body of MIT, and helping to assure that every member of the undergraduate community has a voice, increasing unity among the student body. This committee will be working on DEI issues and
The UA Financial Board allocates funding to student groups in order to support their events. The overall mission and goal of Finboard is to objectively and fairly support all student groups within the limits of the budget and theFinboard Funding Policies<http://ua.mit.edu/funding/finboard/>.
The Committee on Public Affairs advocates for undergraduate opinions on public affairs related topics, from student loan legislation to Election Day holidays, as well as encouraging higher participation from the undergraduate population in civic engagement related efforts.
