Fireside Chat with Drew Houston '05, Co-Founder and CEO of Dropbox
Covid-19 has had a broad impact on the workplace, including accelerating the shift to distributed work. As the “new normal” settles in, the ways in which we work will continue to be redefined. In this fireside chat, Drew Houston ’05, co-founder and CEO of Dropbox, will sit down with Dan Huttenlocher SM’84, PhD ’88, dean of the MIT Stephen A. Schwarzman College of Computing, to discuss what a flexible work environment will look like post-pandemic and his long-term vision of how the nature of work will ultimately be reshaped by advances in machine learning and artificial intelligence.

MIT Grad Student Union Petition
MIT grad students announced their campaign to form a union with a large rally on September 27th! You can read more about the rally here<https://thetech.com/2021/09/30/mit-gsu-launch-rally>. Graduate students perform experiments, write papers, secure grants, serve on committees, and are critical in providing academic support to undergraduates as our TAs! Grad students are forming a union in order to secure a voice to improve their research conditions and have a say in the policies that affect them. This includes more affordable housing, comprehensive and affordable health benefits, and fair & equal treatment regardless of gender, nationality, and immigration status! If you are interested in learning more, you can visit mitgsu.org<http://mitgsu.org/>. Undergrads are able to sign and share this MIT community support letter<http://tinyurl.com/mitcommunitysupport> put together by the MIT Student-Worker alliance if you support our graduate student colleagues and their fight for a more equitable MIT.
