Happy end of 2nd week of classes! With the beginning of the school semester, we urge you to check your syllabi today and resolve any potential conflicts that your class may have with the Institute rules and regulations. Any conflicts are much easier to resolve now than later in the semester.

There are a number of rules governing class logistics, scheduling of classes, homework, and exams laid out in the rules and regulations here.<https://facultygovernance.mit.edu/rules-and-regulations> It is important as a student that you voice concerns about a potential violation by completing a report<http://ua.mit.edu/policy/violations/>.
Examples of Academic Violations
Below are a few examples of key rules this semester. If you have reason to believe your class is violating a rule, please reach out to UA Education asap.
Exams
* No exams are allowed after Dec 3rd
* For classes with finals, no assignments can be due after Dec 3rd
* For classes without finals, one assignment can be due between Dec 4th and December 9
* Tests held outside of class time must not exceed 2 hours, must begin no earlier than 7:30 pm, and may not be held on Monday.
* When a test is held outside scheduled class time, a regularly scheduled class hour (lecture or recitation) shall be cancelled, or no assignment shall fall due that calendar week.
Schedules
* The following information should be available to you by now:
* Number and kinds of assignments,
* the approximate schedule of tests and due dates for major projects,
* whether or not there will be a final examination,
* and the grading criteria and procedure
* By the end of the third week, the precise schedule of tests and major assignments must be provided
* No academic exercises will be held, and no assignments will be due, during the Thanksgiving break, which is from November 25th - 26th
If you think one of your classes is breaking a rule:
1. If you are comfortable doing so, you can talk to the professor directly.
2.
