Hi Undergrads,
The UA is hosting a series of lunch/dinner discussions with faculty about
bold ideas to improve the first year. The idea is to bring students and
faculty together in a small, informal setting to think creatively about new
ideas. If you are interested in participating in one of the lunch/dinner

Members of the search committee for a new Vice President for Information
Systems & Technology (IS&T) are seeking input on the key issues the next
leader of IS&T should address and the attributes you would like this leader
to possess. You can engage in two ways:
- Attend a forum on Monday, December 3 in 9-255 from 5.30-7.00PM. RSVP

- Submit comments via an online form

UNDERGRADUATE ASSOCIATION EVENTS
*New TechMart Hours During IAP*
TechMart will be closed from Dec. 20th to Jan. 4th. Over IAP from Jan. 7th
to Jan. 30th there will be new hours, Monday-Wednesday from 3 to 9pm.
Grocery and Grab & Go selections will be available. Regular hours will
resume February 4th, Monday-Friday from 3 to 11pm.

*LBGTQ Spirituality & Faith Series: In Conversation with Yiscah

In this session, Yiscah will recount her personal life story, based on her
memoir, Forty Years in the Wilderness: My Journey to Authentic Living.
Yiscah’s 40-year memoir details her joys and struggles with her own
spirituality, gender identity, and commitment to living true to herself.
The story she tells is one of a man, facing his truth, embracing the woman
she was always meant to be, and returning to her faith with wholeness and
authenticity. Yiscah will discuss as well sources of inspiration in the
Jewish tradition for authentic living.

*Designing the First-Year Experience: Fun-Sized*

DFY: Fun-Sized (2.s974/2.s790) is a 3-unit subject building on the original
Designing the First-Year Experience at MIT class offered in Spring 2018.
We welcome students who were involved with the prior class as well as
first-year students and others who were not able to participate last year.
The class will focus on exploring ideas for radical changes to the
first-year experience that could be piloted with a small group of students,
for example in a First-Year Learning Community (FLC), as well as less
dramatic changes that could be tested with the entire Class of 2023.
