Dear Undergraduates,

Drop date is one week away. It's an excellent time to meet with your
advisor! *If the last time you saw your advisor was the beginning of the
semester, we encourage you to set up a meeting in the next couple of weeks.*

*Not sure what to talk about with your advisor? Here are a few ideas:*

   - Discuss whether or not you should drop a class
   - Plans for IAP or the summer
      - If you're interested in exploring a particular area, ask your
advisor if they can introduce you to someone in that area
      - Discuss with your advisor how these plans might help you figure out
what you want to do after graduation
   - If you will be declaring your major soon, or if you're considering
changing your major, discuss with your advisor what majors you might be
interested in pursuing and how you will get enough information to make a
   good decision
   - If you're thinking about graduate school, talk about what you still
need to do to be ready to apply

*Why is it important to build a relationship with your advisor?*

   - Your professor is one of the most distinguished people in their field!
That's really cool! Take advantage of being at MIT and getting to know the
amazing faculty here. This is a faculty member who is specifically
responsible for getting to know you!
   - If you plan to apply to fellowships or graduate school, you will
likely want a letter of recommendation from your advisor
