Hey everyone,
As you may have heard, the Metropolitan Warehouse will soon be renovated to
become an undergraduate dormitory. This is exciting! I hope you are
excited.
Right now, we are in the architectural design stages - which means that
while we have a model for what the dorm will look like, there are still
lots of things that could be changed. We want to hear your thoughts on the
building and how it could be improved!
We're having a number of information + feedback sessions explaining the
current plans for the Metropolitan Warehouse, and then listening to your
thoughts on particular parts of the design.
The first session, open to the entire undergraduate community, is *this
Monday, 5:00 PM, in W20-400 *(4th floor of the student center)*.*
For those of you who live in dorms, we will be hosting similar feedback
sessions *in every dormitory* over the next two weeks. So you don't have to
make it on Monday.
I encourage you to come, learn about the new dorm, and give your thoughts
on what works and what doesn't work. If you speak up, be confident that
your voice will be heard. Students already gave feedback on a previous
round of designs, and that feedback led to major changes which you can see
in the new plans.
I've also prepared some basic Q & A for you:
Q. *Will it have a dining hall?*
A. You should come to the feedback session.*
*Q. Will it have windows?*
A. You should come to the feedback session.*
Q. *When is it currently projected to open?*
A. I think you get the gist.*
Yours,
Yo Shavit, DormCon President
Caitlin Heber, DormCon Vice-President
Taylor Rose, Panhel President
Sam Oppenheim, IFC President
