The UA Committee on Education presents:
Engineering of Architectural Heritage-- with "MacArthur Genius" Prof. John Ochsendorf
When: TODAY (1/22). 2 PM.
Where: 4-237
Lunch will be served!
Prof. John Ochsendorf<http://architecture.mit.edu/faculty/john-ochsendorf> is truly a genius. Don't believe us? Just ask the MacArthur Foundation<http://www.macfound.org/fellows/807/>, which awarded him its prestigious fellowship (aka "the Genius Grant") in 2008. Prof. Ochsendorf studies historic monuments -- from fiber suspension bridges dating from the Inca Empire to splendid French Romanesque churches -- in order to design and build more sustainable structures.
If you're interested in Course 4, Course 1, art, history, or you just want to hear a good story, join us for Prof. Ochsendorf's lecture this afternoon.
In case you cannot make it, you can watch the live stream<http://www.ustream.tv/channel/ua-coe-lecture-series#utm_campaign=unknown&utm_source=13034067&utm_medium=social> starting at about 1:50 PM.
See you there!
