Dear Undergrads,
As MIT continues in its search for a 17th president, we, the student advisory group to the Corporation search committee, are actively involved in providing the student opinion on the future of MIT and the next president. An early goal of the student advisory group was to listen to the student community about what challenges and opportunities lay in MIT's future as well as the desired traits, skills, and attributes of the 17th president. This morning, we shared our preliminary draft report to the search committee and are now sharing it with the student community.
Review the preliminary report to the Corporation search committee<http://gsc.mit.edu/programs-initiatives/mit-president-search/report/>
As the search process continues, we invite you to read the preliminary report. Topics discussed in the report range from the future of residential learning to student engagement to MIT’s global influence.
Support or suggest revisions to the report by providing feedback
Provide feedback via our online form <http://gsc.mit.edu/programs-initiatives/mit-president-search/report/> or to the student advisory committee directly at gscua-search at mit.edu<mailto:gscua-search at mit.edu>. Your feedback will be used to further refine our recommendations and commentary. The online feedback form will be accessible until April 20, 2012, so please consider reading the report and providing feedback soon so we can effectively incorporate your comments.
We would like to thank the numerous students who attended our forums, provided comments online, and spoke to members of the student task force for their valuable thoughts and time. We look forward to continuing to represent you as the search process continues.
Regards,
The Student Advisory Group to the Presidential Search
