Introducing the *UA Committee on Student Life's*...

*Program in Leadership and Undergraduate Success (PLUS)!*

PLUS links upperclassmen to underclassmen in a peer-to-peer, one-on-one
mentoring relationship encompassing the leadership, academic, career, and
social aspects of MIT. The core of the program is the individual
mentor-mentee relationships that foster leadership development.

*FRESHMEN... What do you get out of being a PLUS mentee?*

- Peer-to-peer, one-on-one mentorship is incredibly rare on campus. This is
your chance to develop a relationship with an upperclassman who will be able
to answer your questions about classes, internships, career goals, where to
find resources at MIT, etc.

- Learn how to make your mark on campus and on the community! Through
leadership development workshops and the guidance of your mentor, you will
be able to build on your ability to initiate change and achieve goals. You
will put these skills to use when you set an individual goal for a
leadership project and work to achieve it during the fall semester.

- You will have access to the PLUS network, enabling you to form
relationships with other mentors and freshmen mentees. All PLUS mentors are
leaders on campus chosen through a highly competitive application process,
and are involved in a wide range of student groups and activities.

- You will have full access to all of the PLUS events, including restaurant
gift certificates for you and your mentor.

*SOPHOMORES, JUNIORS, SENIORS... What do you get out of being a PLUS mentor?
*

- This is your chance to leave a legacy on campus, to foster the growth of
student leaders who will continue to impact the MIT community after you
graduate.

- You will have the opportunity to truly shape PLUS in its second year,
helping to strengthen a program that could fill the need for freshmen
leadership on campus.

- You will have access to the PLUS network, enabling you to form
relationships with other campus leaders as well as recruit interested
freshmen to your groups and projects.

- You will have full access to all of the PLUS events, including restaurant
gift certificates for you and your mentee.

- Everyone was confused during their freshman year. This is your chance to
give back, to support a freshman and guide your mentee through the trials of
life at MIT.
