As the end of term approaches, it's important to know what Professors
can require of you according to Institute policy. The UA Student

*After Friday, December 5:*
- No test should be given unless scheduled for finals week through the
Schedules Office (this includes unit tests). You can check here:
http://web.mit.edu/registrar/www/schedules/exams.html
- No assignment may be due in a subject in which there is an exam during
finals week
- Optional assignments due between Friday, December 5 and the last
scheduled class period should be for self-study and should not be used
toward part of the grade, even for extra points or as substitutes for
earlier assignments
- At most one assignment can be due in a class in which there is no
exams during finals week. It must be due by the last regularly
scheduled class (Wed, Dec. 10)
*/Ex camera/ (take-home) final examinations:*
- should be scheduled through the Schedules Office (see link above)
- should be offered over the course of a single afternoon --- starting
at 1:30 P.M. and ending no later than at 7:30 P.M. should permit
students unrestricted use of resources.
A student may be excused from a scheduled final examination for reasons
of illness or significant personal problems. Undergraduates should
contact a dean in Counseling and Support Services
(web.mit.edu/counsel/www <http://web.mit.edu/counsel/www>) if they wish
to seek an excused absence.
