Dear Undergrads,
We emailed you back in early May to encourage you to attend our town
hall meeting, and we were pleased to see many undergrads attend --
especially considering that it was held during what is arguably the
roughest week of the term (we had no control over this, expressed our
frustrations, and hope that subsequent meetings are held at more optimal
times). Thanks to those who attended and provided constructive feedback
on the GIRs that were proposed there -- your comments were acknowledged
and broadened the perspectives of many faculty members of the committee.
However, the feedback process does not end here, and we would like to
hear more of your perspectives so that the final recommendations are in
our collective best interests as undergraduates.
Now that things are (hopefully) less hectic, we have constructed online
discussion forums on various topics, and we would appreciate both
positive and negative feedback on any of them (HASS requirement, GIRs,
International Experience, Advising, and Learning Culture) -- this is
accessible here:

Many of you who did not attend wished to see what was presented
(including the proposed set of GIRs) at the town hall meeting -- a link
to the pdf of the presentation is easily accessible here (just click
"town meeting presentation"):

These forums will be up for the entirety of the summer. Feel free to
send an email to edcomm-request at mit.edu if you have any questions or
comments that you would like to submit to us directly. Please also send
us an email if you are interested in participating in student forums
this coming Fall.
We really look forward to compiling your feedback and participating in a
vibrant discussion!
~The student members of the TFUEC
