Dear Undergraduates,
Welcome back to MIT!
So you've attended a few classes now, and you're getting back into the
swing of things? Great, but just to ease that transition, here are a
few questions you should be asking yourself:
Do you know what to expect from your classes--in terms of grading and
collaboration? Do you know your test schedules?
MIT has certain class policies and regulations, established by faculty
and students, that you should be aware of at the beginning of this term.
By the end of the first day: what are the prerequisites for the class?
By the end of this week, has your professor provided:
1. a clear, concise description of work, including number and kinds of
assignments?
2. approximate schedule of tests and due dates for major projects?
3. whether or not there will be a final exam?
4. the criteria and grading procedures?
5. regulations regarding conduct, collaboration, and appropriate use of
old materials?
For a full term checklist, please go to:

It is Institute policy that individuals will not be reprimanded or
discriminated against for initiating an inquiry or complaint; see
Policies and Procedures, Section 9.6.
For faculty support contact: exam-termregs at mit.edu or feedback at mit.edu.
Also, feel free to contact the Undergraduate Association's Student
Committee on Educational Policy (SCEP) for advice and support
(ua-scep-chairs at mit.edu).
Good luck!
