it has been my experience that tango has a higher percentage of arrogance then other dances.
it's sad that the silly arguments of close v. open embrace. traditional v. non traditional music, etc. have overwhelmed the sharing of this beautiful STREET dance.
tango is what it is to the dancer, silly (arrogant) people trying to enforce rules that historically did not exist, or if they did, existed in a small locale, has greatly diminished much of the shear pleasure of DANCING
personally, it makes me nuts for people to argue "their knowledge", and trying to enforce "their dogma" of a dance that grew up on the streets (chruches, docks, bars and brothels) of south america, and later continued to evolve through out the world. the only thing someone can say with authority, is "this is what is saw, at this place and at this time", or "this is what my instructor said occured at this place, and at this time". certainly there is no universal truth.
