Digital sign language in Argentina is different from that in the USA.
 
The index finger shown alone (with the other fingers flexed in the hand, the dorsum towards the addressee the palm side towards the addresser and with an upward motion, means the same as showing the middle finger in the USA.
 
But a little  motion of the index finger as a signal could have any number of meanings only known to the two persons involved, as Nancy pointed very well.
 
Nancy the same as Sherrie go to B.A. very frequently so they know what they are talking about, their opinion is valuable as coming from the feminine perspective as well.
