[Tango-L] Why are you dancing tango if you don't like tango?

I have worked with artists, actors and musicians for a quite lengthy period
of my life. I value many as my friends. However I won't accept even a little
responsibility for the lack of opportunity they have to earn a decent living
from their chosen profession. I blame their compatriots in the arts. If
their fellow artists, in the past or present, had not through greed or
vanity, allowed themselves to be recorded or filmed or have their works
reproduced, there would in the wealthy parts of the world, be ample
opportunity to earn a good living.
As a self interested member of the general population, I prefer to listen,
see or experience the best when given the choice and affordability. I don't
listen or dance to music by logic, but rather by how I enjoy it. Do I need
to apologise?

Anton

I run multiple gropes. One is a nostalgia group doing multiple 1900-1940s
styles i.e the way dance bands used to exist. The other group is an all
tango group.
Are we perfect? No. I have background in tango from childhood (not
Piazzolla). My grandmother was a singer in BsAs but, the others, yah we have
had to teach them. The most inspiring thing to get better at is to see
people dancing to it. So sure there's growing pains but, when those are
accompanied by a supportive community with an open mind, ultimately you get
good results.

Paying musicians, definitely.

Bandoneon (if you can't find it), why?

Tango isn't strictly the cliché orquesta tipica instruments. I bet you'd be
surprised that steel guitar used to be involved in tango. Look up Oscar
Aleman and Los Lupes. It was a duo that did among different styles, tango.
They were from Argentina by the way. That happens to be my instrument as
well.

Heck find a duo of guitar and violin and you can get some decent music to
dance to. This isn't an either or. You can still have Djed content and live.
