Strong connection IS NOT an exchange of emotional energy. 
This is another tango myth that it is.

Emotional connection has nothing to do with quality of dancing in all
styles.
Yes, good dancing give birth to emotional connection, but thinking about it
in the opposite way, it is like fixing the car engine from the trunk.

This tango myth was born by people who had difficulty explaining on a
physical level what a dancing connection is. They used poetry instead of
craft.

And when people start dancing - they need craft.
Otherwise they got sloppy.
