The most recent edition of the American Journal of Dance Therapy  Vol.29, #2, Dec. 2007 includes a research study on the effects of Argentine Tango as a form of Partnered Dance for those with Parkinson disease and the Healthy Elderly.     Done in the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis it shows how balance and gait can be positively increased through dance..   

One of the researchers received a grant from the Marian Chace Foundation as did the earlier study on Parkinson's.
