[Tango-L] Russian Waltz (vals)

You can find many waltzes on these CDs, a couple of which are frequently used in milongas. The most common one is the one you mentioned  which is actually called My Gentle Tender Beast.  One song is often used as a cortina also. There is beautiful music in these compilations for sure, much of it done by the Russian Philharmonic. I like the waltz from Beware of the Car, and some others are probably dance-able besides My Gentle Tender Beast, but there is a tendency for the waltzes to be a little too overpowering in certain passages for dancing in my opinion (the tracks waiver between quiet passages and sudden sound bursts of many instruments), so I've never tried to play them at a milonga. I wouldn't doubt that other people are using them though.
