hey my tango friends, play nice boys and girls...

or boys and boys as it seems here.

i LOVE the concept of an exchange, and yes, miles your ideas are a
contribution, no matter how long u are practicing.

some want to preserve the traditions and codes of tango and i respect
that but everything changes and is dynamic and does not threaten what
has come before.

there is plenty of room on the dance floor and milongas and blogs and
lists for all of us.

so to my more seasoned leader and follower peers, can we please make
room?

having spent a career in the study of pedagogy i have learned that a
teacher is someone temporarily ahead while u are temporarily behind
and u never know where that teacher will appear from and when the
positions will shift.

what tango has instilled in me is the ability to wait, listen, and
take a breath before i step and carol - i am in agreement i also
would like to see "more exchange philosophy and energy (low-key,
positive, inclusive, non-instructive, pure social dancing) in the US
tango scene."

i am one for letting things rip (why i need the relief at times of
some rip roaring tango nuevo or a nite of tango to house music), but
it is also important to be mindful of those around u when u do and
not step on anyone's real or metaphorical toes when we do...

u dance who u r -
