In response to Jake's comments on the thread the zvi migdal society:

My reply:

Without a broader understanding of the dance upbringings and how they relate to 
the dance, then you will be accepting what anyone else thinks without 
challenging their views. There is nothing wrong with that, although I am not 
that way. Have you ever asked anyone what the original or traditional dance 
movements represent, or how they were integrated to the dance? Is it important 
to know it?

I guess it all depends what one is after as a student or teacher of the tango 
dance.
