Well: not directly Thailand but just around the corner ... Singapore. I
had a very pleasant time there in november, friendly tango community
and absolutely client orientated buisiness!!! Of course no problems at
all re get cash out of any ATM! :-)

Just to get it clear: I love Bs.As. ;-) I love being there! I've been there
before the crash (1998) and a couple of times after (2003, 2004,
2005). My partner has been there before, during and after the crash!

Service was arrogant before the crash (and argentine service was
reknown for this, worldwide). It was great after the crash, seamed to
have profoundly improved, esp. when I was there in 2003 (not perfect,
but people were putting a lot of effort in service, you could feel this!),
diminued in 2004, getting even worse in 2005! I.e. no problems with
cheeting taxi drivers in 2003, some in 2004, a lot in 2005 ... observed
by myself and reported by enough friends living in Bs.As. And yes: I do
speak enough spanish to find out this things, or at least I understand
enough of it. And yes: I do behave friendly, communicate in spanish as
far as I reach and people will feel my efforts ...

... and I just as honest service for which I am definitely willing to pay!

And it's not that I can't afford or do not want to pay. I am willing to pay
for real service - but I am not agreeing to ripp-off!!!

Hiding rising Banelco-fees behind 'security-lies' is ridiculous and should
be brand-marked like this!!!

Thanks to modern communication methods including internet people
are less dependend on ripp-off structures and one can try to avoid ripp-
off-banking companies. Which I will do the next time being to Bs.As.: if
the machine will not give enough money I will use the 'cancel'-button
and try the next / different bank! If the problem exist with all the banks I
will seriously consider not to come back as appearantly the country
does not need to welcome foreign visitors. Because otherwise the
country would facillitate the life of foreign visitors!

Anyway: hope Bs.As. and Argentina will prove me wrong! And banking
will become normal again as soon as possible. And service will get
better as soon as possible. Because I think there's hope: allthough
nobody ever though it would be possible Bs.As. are reported to be non-
smoking by now ... one thing I still like to discover!!!

Enjoy the "festival de la ciudad"! [even if it's commercialised by now ...
the first one in 1998 was still genuine ... I also loved the original logo ;-
