I think if the Argentine parejas de baile saw this post they would not 
have a clue about what you are talking about.  I do not think there are 
any conscious reasons why the name comes first or second.  I think to be 
honest they go by how it sounds.  Believe me putting the woman's name 
first has no effect on the machista attitude, nor is it because they 
want to be "caballero."
