Ofcourse it all happens. Nevertheless point is that preaching negativity is not appropriate. . The man may be dancing with an 'impossible to navigate' follower. Now who should dump who?.

By 'dump your partner' logic, men should insult women who are hard to navigate, who are perhaps not experienced ...and make a public spectacle, make an example out of them!.

You know leading is like driving cars. who doesnt love driving BMWs:), handling like that. Unfortunately in the reality of milongas you can end up with second hand cars ...with erratic steering wheel, dysfunctional gears, worn out or NO breakes.

But you know we keep driving them because we made the choice. We keep them till end, whatever it takes.

Some women I feel, take tango "taking care of her" thing bit too seriously..:))) Once in a way, we should all stand in front of mirror and as a few questions.

Agreed, a time will when decisions must made, still more often than not, it must be possible not to hurt someone.

  Warm regards
  IL

Exactly one month ago, I saw a American woman walk off the floor during a
tanda in Lo de Celia. She was in Buenos Aires for her first visit, and it
was only her second milonga. She knew that if she wasn't comfortable with
her partner, she could tell him thanks and walk off the floor. No reason
has to be given. A man knows that he isn't going to convince a woman to
finish a tanda. Everyone sees it happening because dancers don't leave the
floor during a tanda. It makes a clear statement to the man and all the
women in the room. She later told me that he was drunk, and she was
uncomfortable. She didn't want to suffer through the tanda. This is a
public embarrassment to the man, but it happens.
