It's just a colorful colloquism. Molly Ivins has a wonderful book called
"You Got to Dance with Them What Brung You."

But before you log on to amazon.com, it's more about politics, than
dancing.

FAO whoever started this thread. Something's bugging me, and I have to
address it...
   
  The correct verb is "hanged".
   
  A picture is hung;
  a donkey is well-hung, while...
  a man is hanged!
