Spring is in the air, and the thoughts of Minnesotans have turned to the great outdoors.
Now's the perfect time to emerge from hibernation and enjoy all things al fresco.
One great way is to attend an outdoor milonga. There could hardly be a more beautiful
setting for this than Minnehaha Park. Join the local tango community at the restaurant Sea
Salt at Minnehaha Park for a Milonga Under the Stars.
The DJ music ranges from the traditional to modern, with breaks for the dancers to
socialize. The environment is more casual than a
traditional milonga, although tango dancers often take this opportunity to come out in
their most creative outfits.
Even if you don't take to the dance floor, it's a perfect way to spend a night outdoors:
dining on the wonderful food at Sea Salt, drinking vino tinto, and enjoying warm weather
while watching the most beloved of Argentine dances. One word to the wise, however:
mosquitoes love all of the flesh that tango dancers tend to expose, so a bottle of
bug-spray will make for a much more pleasant experience.
We will dance wherever it suits us best, so you may have to look around and find us. They
have a lovely patio, as well as a large pavilion, or we may be inside by the diners or on
the bridge.
