Hello Tang Residents:

Since we have so many new residents this year, I want to reach out about food deliveries at Tang. It can be tricky so here is what you should know:

1. Occasionally, food delivery folks will leave your food on the floors inside the back vestibule and under the mailboxes or even on the loading dock right under the sign that says "Do not drop packages off here." You should do everything possible to meet the driver.

2. If you are not able to meet them downstairs at the back door near the loading dock where many of them park, please instruct the delivery person that if they park on Audrey street, they must walk around to the front entrance.

3. The food rack in the lobby is a courtesy to all residents who were frustrated their food was being left outside on the ground for Tom and Jerry. It is not monitored by front desk workers. Food has been taken accidentally and intentionally. We strongly recommend, when possible, to meet the delivery person when they arrive and only order when you are able to do so.

4. Since there seems to be a pattern of food being taken again, we will involve the MIT police. There is a camera in the lobby. Please do not risk your campus housing privileges. If someone is experiencing food insecurity, there are resources available. https://oge.mit.edu/finances/financial-concerns/food-insecurity/

I think I covered it but if not, feel free to share important tips for having food delivered to Tang.

Best,

Dawn
