[Tang-Residents] New lighting in stariwells

Starting the week of 6/1/15, electrical contractors will be starting a project that will be replacing lighting fixtures in stairwells located within Building W84 and W85.  During installation, the stairwell lighting fixtures will be de-energized and notices will be posted on doors requesting that building occupants seek alternative routes.  Depending on each stairwell scope of work, the duration of the work should take 1-4 hours per stairwell.
Work hours will be performed 9am-5pm.

Only one stairwell will be de-energized and worked in at a time so there will always be at least one stairwell within the building that will be available for egress.

The new stairwell fixtures will be LED and have integral motion sensors that will dim the fixtures down when no one is in the stairwells. This is part of a campus wide energy efficiency project that is being performed in over 90 building around campus.

At the beginning of next week, I will send out another notification with an estimate for when the contractors plan on being in each building.

No work will be performed on 6/4/15 and 6/5/15.
