Hi Chati,
Could you forward this to the Tang mailing list? I just realized that the
mail I sent on Sunday got stuck somewhere in the dorm-officers inbox.
Thanks a ton,
Kishor
-------------YesPlus Workshop-------------
Hi,
Are you stressed out? Gasping for breath under an avalanche of psets
and/or research? We're here to help!
*What's Yes*Plus*?*
MIT can be a stressful and demanding place at times; the question is, how
to handle it? Sometimes it's not possible to reduce the number of psets,
presentations, labs, and meetings. But, even when we can't decrease
demands on our time, we can increase our ability to relax and handle
stress. And the Yesplus Workshop (Oct. 2 -
6)<http://yesplusmit-g.eventbrite.com>,
hosted by the Art of Living Club at MIT, gives instruction on how. The
workshop itself is conducted by trained faculty members from the
international non-profit, the Art of Living Foundation.
*Using the breath*
At the heart of this unique workshop is the principle that the breath can
be used to alter the state of our mind. Powerful breathing techniques like
the Sudarshan Kriya Yoga (S.K.Y) are taught to relax the mind and de-stress
the body. The workshop also combines these techniques with meditation and
practical wisdom.
*Who else has done it?*
This workshop, while offered seldomly at MIT, has been taken by
students atuniversities around the country (Cornell, Harvard,
Stanford, where it's a for-credit
class, and more). Similar workshops offered by the Art of Living Foundation
have been taken by 25 million people across 150 countries.
*Is it for me?*
YesPlus is for you if you're looking for something to help give you more
energy, focus, and time. Think about what you could do with all that this
semester!
