Please join us for our first lecture of the year with Eric Lander, Professor of Biology at MIT and founding director of the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. Prof. Lander was one of the principal leaders of Human Genome Project, and has a long-standing interest in applying genomics to understand the molecular basis of human physiology and disease. Prof. Lander is the recipient of numerous awards, including the prestigious MacArthur Fellowship. In 2009, he was appointed by President Obama as co-chair of the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology. At MIT, Prof. Lander is well-known for teaching the undergraduate introductory biology course, which is also available on OpenCourseWare (and on the EdX platform) and accessible to people all over the world.
