Welcome to Tang Hall!
Hello Residents!
For all of you new to the building, my name is Michael Collins and I am the Manager of Tang Hall. I am committed to ensuring that you achieve your personal or academic goals while you residing in Tang Hall, and will work to provide a clean, inviting, and safe environment here at Tang.
If you have any maintenance concerns in your room or notice something in the building that needs to be addressed please use the online work order system: http://web.mit.edu/sapweb/PS1/facilities_home.shtml
Using this system guarantees that the request will be received. During evenings, weekends and holidays or in the case of a facilities emergency, please call 3-1500 and ask for Housing Unit 12.
Tang Hall has an in house staff composed of 1 Acme cleaners (Roberto Pirolla) and 1 maintenance mechanic (Cedric Purcell). They maintain bathrooms, hallways, and public areas.
Upcoming for the winter months, we will work to improve and maintain the living conditions in TANG HALL.
During IAP (Jan) 5 floors will be painted in the Bedrooms, kitchens, bathrooms and common areas.
The schedule will be sent out in December to these 5 floors affected. Floors 23 through 19
Also during IAP New carpets will be installed in all bedrooms and common area on floors 7 and 6
Here are some fast facts about TANG HALL:
* Trash Chutes are located in the stairwell on the West side of the building near suits E and F.
* Closet doors must remain in your room, if it has been removed you must store it, keep it someplace in your room.
* Please do not hang anything from pipes or sprinkler heads in your room or the hallways.
* The switch on your bedroom wall controls the power to the low outlet
* Room inspections will start sometime in October.
Spare Key at Desk:
Each resident will have a spare key located at the Tang Desk. A picture ID is required to check out the key. The key is to be returned within 24 hours or a late fee will be billed directly to your bursars account
Overnight Guest Policy:
Overnight guests may not exceed a three-night stay in any given week, with the permission of the students in the room in which the guest is staying. Sleeping overnight in public lounge areas is prohibited.
