No rest for the wicked, Snowriders!
With the GSC Ski trip passed, its time to look forward to Sugarloaf
Mountain. This bad-boy is one of New England's finest, and also happens
to be one of the three mountains included in the New England Ski pass
(yea, I'm talking to you SP holders).
Sugarloaf is one of the highest elevation mountains in New England
(Maine's second highest!), with the summit perched at 4237 ft. It also
features a bit of something for everyone, featuring 138 trails with
different difficulties evenly distributed (34 greens, 44 blues, 39
*blacks*, and 21* double blacks*), 3 distinct terrain parks (beginner,
intermediate and advanced) as well as a nice long trail stretching 3.5
miles. We, your Friendly Neighborhood Snowriders, can only describe
Sugarloaf as "epic". Are you up to the challenge?
With the recent precipitation, high elevation and more snow on the way
(Snow forecasted throughout the week, and sun projected for our visit :)
), we are expecting some fresh powder and sweet rides for those brave
enough to to ascend to the mountain. It will be cold, though--day time
temperatures at the base have been /peaking /in the mid 20's, with night
time temps plummeting below zero. Dress appropriately.
*Tickets are on sale now, and sales will close* Wednesday at 12pm.
The price breakdown is as follows:
Bus: 29
Bus+Lift: 81
Bus+Lift+Rental: 108
The bus will depart Sydney Pacific at *4:30 am, *so set extra alarms. We
should be back by *9 *pm.
More powder to the people!
