Our final Sensing the Unseen seminar focuses on how recording technologies
film, audio, images, interactive media change the ways that we investigate
and portray the evanescent, the transitory, the just-out-of-view. The first
part of the afternoon seminar will be devoted to screenings and discussions
of ethnographically inflected works-in-progress by area media makers. The
second part of the seminar features a multimedia round-table with
presentations of new work by graduate student media-makers. We will
conclude with an open discussion on the future of media anthropology as a
mode of sensory study.
All seminar meetings are free and open to the public - no registration is
required.
