[Sci-tech-public] Schedule correction

The first of the Anthropology sponsored HASTS colloquia, "Global STS
in Africa, Asia and Beyond" will be at 4:15 on Feb 17 in the
Anthropology classroom 16-220.

The speaker is Neil Gershenfeld, who will bring along Amy Sun and
Sherry Lassiter to talk about their FAB lab experiences in Africa and
India. Village youngsters are taught to do electronics and feel that
they can make the world in which they live (and some of their ideas
feed back to the Media Lab here). Amy Sun has been involved with the
project in Ghana and South Africa (http://web.media.mit.edu/~asun/fab.shtml
). Might well be of interest also to your engineering students.
