John Malpede with Harrell Fletcher
Artist, director, and performer John Malpede will talk with artist Harrell
Fletcher about three decades of Malpede's aesthetically and politically
uncompromising brand of art as social action.

What do we learn when we push there and then up against here and now?

RFK in EKY, 2004
Photo and video documentation of John Malpede's full-scale reenactment of
Robert F Kennedy's 1968 tour through southeastern Kentucky that took place
in September 2004 against the backdrop of the Bush-Kerry campaign.

The American War, 2005
In Vietnam for an artists' retreat the summer of 2005, Harrell Fletcher
re-photographed each image and text description on view at Ho Chi Minh City's
The War Remnants Museum. The American War, 2005, is made up of these
photographs. On view concurrently at White Columns, New York.

Thurs April 27th -- June 30th, M-F 11-5 pm
