~ The Bale ~

(Bale=A compacted and bound cube of recycled material.)
An informative and inspirational newsletter from the Working Group
Recycling Committee to MIT Recycling Ambassadors, colleagues, and the MIT
community.

The Working Group Recycling Committee invites you to read the
September/October issue of The Bale, now posted on our website at:
http://web.mit.edu/wgrecycling/docs/monthly_bale/monthlybale_091005.pdf
The Bale is posted on our website for reading online, or to print out.
Please print double-sided on recycled content paper.
See archived issues at: http://web.mit.edu/wgrecycling/monthly_bale.shtml

WGR publishes the first issue of the third volume of The Bale, formerly
known as The Monthly Bale. The Bale has converted to a bimonthly format and
has had a facelift, too! Rest assured, it's still chock-full of articles,
tips, and helpful information about recycling at MIT! This issue focuses on
electronics recycling at MIT and includes a spotlight on MIT's Recycling
Ambassadors.

~ The Campus-Wide Environmental Calendar: A Collaboration for 2005 ~

~ Help MIT meet its goal of 40% recycling in 2005! ~
In July 2005 MIT recycled 37% of the waste it generated; we are close to
our goal of 40% recycling rates! You can see MIT's total materials recycled
on our website. Click on the link below to find statistics detailing just
how much of what was recycled at MIT from January to July 2005.

The mission of the MIT Working Group Recycling Committee is to develop and
deliver programs that educate administrative and support staff about
recycling, reducing and reusing goods. Efforts include
identifying/addressing gaps in staff understanding about recycling as well
as gaps in recycling resources and creating ways to increase recycling at MIT.
