Financing, Politics, and Ethics"

Abstract
Since the passage of Medicare and Medicaid forty years ago, very little
has happened in health care financing. Both medical costs and the
number of uninsured people continue to grow.  Dr. Mongan will discuss
how the move to a "market paradigm" in health care has affected the
debate. He will also describe how underlying economic, social, and
ethical issues have led to political deadlock.
