Jeff,
I implemented something similar, maybe it helps:
- in the BO method called by the needed task we export to memory a flag
- in the standard transaction an enhancement is implemented to check if the flag is set in memory and either deny execution outside workflow while a workflow is started or just log somewhere the user actions outside wf
If this can be achieved with standard I would like to know also ☺
