Optimizing Workflow performance

Hi Workflow gurus.. Can you please assist in the following :                     a) How do you measure the performance of the Workflow objects .                         Are there any SAP provided tools to measure the performance of Workflow objects ?                    b)  What are the different ways of optimizing the Workflow performance ?
