Default leg

Hi,
In a user decision step we  have three legs, Approved,Reject and forward. By
default there is another leg that is cancel and keep in inbox.

In our workflow we have a status which in case of  the three legs we change
from submitted to in progress .But in the case of the default leg it still
says submitted. The business wants that to also to change to in progress, as
a user has technically looked at the wi and decided to cancel and keep it in
his inbox for a future decision.

How do i access the  that default leg that i cannot see in the workflow
