Thanks a lot Gavin. This could be helpful.
There are some Standard checks in place. I am going through them to get a better understand of the underlying process. The overflow logic seems to be our point of interest.

The event is triggered when an actual read is received that is lower
than previous read(s), I.e. when it is evident that the previous read
or reads were over estimated.

The logic to determine whether the event should be raised or not is
contained in FM ISU_EVENT_ASSESSING (?) or similar, no system to check
the name at the moment. There is a user exit in the FM that let's you
override the standard behaviour.
