Release internal order in background

Hello wugers,

I've build a workflow for approval of internal order. Once all approved, workflow should set order system status to REL (=released). I could not find a BAPI for that. I also tried using STATUS_CHANGE_INTERN - it does set status REL but it does not affect table COAS as if manual release carried via KO02. I also tried calling SAP standard perform (    PERFORM order_activity IN PROGRAM sapmkauf
                         USING lv_vrgng ' ' ' ' ls_coas ls_kauf. )
It was better but still not identical you release via KO02.
I even tried creating BDC - it works in foreground but not in background since some of the controls in KO02 requires GUI session.

Any idea? I never though I'd have to spend so much time on such a minor issue.
