Sending mail to outlook

Hi Sangvir,

This is how I send emails from workflows. It might not be the best way, so if anyone has any suggestions, I would love to hear them.

In most of my workflows, the emails go to the same people each time. For example, if an employee is terminated who has a company car, an email goes to the Fuel Department manager notifying him to disable their fuel cards.

1. Make sure that the users receiving the emails have their email address in Infotype 0105 of their employee record.
2. Set up a rule with the position numbers of the people receiving the emails.
3. I have a task with a method that runs RH_GET_ACTORS to get the userids of the position numbers in the rule.
4. I have a task with a method that reads USRID_LONG from PA0105 (emails address from employee record).
5. I have a task that then sends the email (BO SELFITEM, Method SENDTASKDESCRIPTION). Containers TYPEID = U and the ADDRESSSTRINGS = the email addresses retrieved in step 4 above. This sends the email to their email addresses. The entries show up in SOST.

Hope this helps.

Subject: Sending mail to outlook

Hi,
I am trying to send mail from SAP inbox to outlook.Earlier auto forwarding option was used which was working fine, however now requirement is to send mail to the email ID's maintained in SU01.
I have tried optin in SO16 and in Mail Sys Grp have selected 'Send to home addresses of users', however mails are not going to Outlook. No entry in SOST either.Kindly throw some light.

Please note this is required only for mail items and not for workitems. Also SCOT settings are in place as they are working fine for Auto forwarding.
Regards,
