Developing SRM Workflows

Hi Zack,
I am in SRM 5.0, but I believe the following holds true:

1) the business objects do not have the 'normal' display/edit methods because they are implemented in ITS transactions (BBP_SC01, for example). These transactions are called when you execute a workflow task that executes FORM HTMLPROCESS. You can see the guts of which transaction is processed in this manner by browsing table HRS1201.
2) Again, for PO, you would not find display/edit methods but rather an ITS transaction, such as BBP_POC.
Suggest you look into transaction SE80, Edit Objects, and do a search for all transactions starting with BBP* for more.
3) We copied SAP delivered tasks to our own versions so that we could change our texts and so forth. However, the underlying transaction was still the same as was delivered by SAP.
4) I am not webby-enough to answer your ZWFVISU questions...

And yes, workflow in SRM is way different from ECC.
Good luck!

Subject: Developing SRM Workflows

Hello All,

We are just implementing SRM 7.0 and I am looking for following help:

* In SRM , Business Objects (BUS2201 - PO, BUS2121 - SCart, etc) do not have display/change/edit methods implemented. Any insight into why these methods are not implemented?
* To display/edit PO, what business object/method can be used?
* Should custom tasks/workflows be based on WebDynpro or can I directly call a transaction code/dialog screen etc? Or can both technologies be used with appropriate settings made in SWFVISU/portal?
* Are settings in SWFVISU done for every Task developed by the developer? Is this followed by UWL Administrator refreshing the system every time?

Any insight into how creating a workflow in SRM is different from creating workflow in ECC would be very helpful.

Thanks,
Zack
