Yes that is the standard behavior. The target system of the transport will
carry the final version.

Hi All,

Here is what we are struggling with...hope someone has a solution to
this.

We do workflow development in system DEV1 (template environment - only
EN and DE languages are installed here), Transport it to system DEV2
(local environment) and do translation from EN to various languages in
system DEV2. Workflows are eventually transported to QA and PROD systems
from DEV2.

once again to clarify - workflow def in DEV1 is only EN and translations
exist for the workflow def in DEV2.

now when we do any bug fix for the workflow in DEV1 and transport it to
DEV2, it generates a new workflow version in DEV2 (e.g. 0002) and we
loose the translation that was done in DEV2 for version 0001.

we can't install languages in DEV1 and translate workflows in DEV1.

Please let me know your inputs to solve this issue.

Thanks & Regards,

Preethi G

Hi friends,
we are having an issue in the custom Purchase order workflow. When the
approver's releases the PO from his inbox, the workflow is not proceeding
further and the work item remains in is inbox with status "In process" .I
checked the table SWFDEVINST and there is an entry for this PO. I tried
creating a terminating event directly from SWUE but in this case the
workflow is moving to next step but the work item still lies in the
approver's inbox and in workflow log that approval task is in status "In
process". One weird thing in this workflow is there are both wait for event
and the terminating event is used, it could be a problem but this issue is
occuring very rarely. Please advice what could be the issue. I tried to
complete the work item manually from tcode SWIA but the workflow went into
error.

Hi Ginger
?
I think Substitution is heavily used by Customers who have a large number of
SAP Users. I have worked in different clients both small and big and have
found that if the number of Users is huge Substitution is heavily used.
While providing support to huge clients we frequently receive request to
maintain substitute of User's who has gone without activating his
substitute. In some clients it is a mandatory law to maintain substitution
while going into vacation just like we set Out of Office in Microsoft
Outlook and Lotus notes.
In smaller size clients I think passive substitution is less used as we
found they share SAP user Id's(Multiple person use same SAP User Id)?so this
features cannot be used for them. Another thing which the client sometime
demands is that while doing substitution with Classification the
Substitution mechanism should check whether the Substitute has the Proper
Authorization to do so. I think this topic is debatable and I will go for
Substitute:)))
?

Thanks

Hi Ginger,

Used the standard substitution at every client I worked. Never used the
Profile. Recently I had to implement the BAdI to ensure the substitutes
have the same or higher $$ limits (maintained in HR) for approvals. I
also had a post go-live request where an agent can only delimit the
substitution and not delete it (for audit).

Regards,
Ramki.
