RSWWERRE cancelling in ECC 6

All,

After a very long time debugging - I did find the errant workitem. Deleted that workitem, and RSWWERRE is good to go.

Word of caution though (and it probably shouldn't even need to be said!) - when this job cancelled itself, of course, I had no idea. So it had been canceling itself for months. Since it's a dev box, no real big deal, but it sure would have been easier to find the errant workitem if I had known when the cancellations started (and of course, Basis won't keep logs in the dev box for more than one day. Not that we don't love our Basis friends...).

If only I had been checking in SM37 each day.
Oh well.

Thanks for all your helpful tips,
Sue

Hi Mike, Eddie,

No, no short dumps. Nothing in SLG1 either. I can identify the workflow template that must be the source of the issue - it is the only one whose Rule calls that particular FM. But none of them are in error, so it seems like I've managed to confuse RSWWERRE.

I need to put this aside for a short while, but will certainly report back to the list when I have some findings.

Thanks for your input!
Sue

Hi again Sue,

Know what you mean about the tinkerers...

With regards to the log it's not the System Log you want but the Application Log, so SLG1.

But seeing as the screenshot you posted actually said '0 errors occured' I guess there wasn't one anyway.

Sounds very much like an abend to me rather than a handled error.

Did you spot the sneaky 'dbgmod' and 'trclvl' hidden parameters in the new version of the program at all? Might be worth you while trying them out :)

  PARAMETERS: bckgrd TYPE swf_bckgrd DEFAULT 'X' NO-DISPLAY,
user TYPE syuname DEFAULT sy-uname NO-DISPLAY,
langu TYPE sylangu DEFAULT sy-langu NO-DISPLAY,
            dbgmod TYPE swfdbgmod NO-DISPLAY,
            trclvl TYPE swftrclev NO-DISPLAY.

Regards,

Mike GT

Hi Mike,

Tinkering with the org structure?? Ha! Of course people tinker with the org structure, and that's why they come and complain that workflow is broken. (off-topic rant)

But I've run that rule with all valid import parms, and it finds agents. I've noticed that RSWWERRE is not so kind; it only passes in ONE of the import parameters, which is why no agent is found. Still, where it gets this information is at the root of the question, I think.

System logs brought no real joy. Here is a snap of SM21.

Thanks for the investigative tips.

Sue,

We've had no problems with SWWERRE cancelling itself like this that I know of but I must say I'm intrigued as we might have to worry about this in a few days time when we upgrade.

Two things that I would look at though first before I debugged stuff:

#1 Do the Responsibilities to the Rule exist still or have they been blatted by someone's HR Org tinkering unexpectedly? A quick test in PFAC with the same values might be worth a try.

#2 What does the app log show as the real error being caught?

Regards,

Mike GT

All,
We are upgrading to ECC 6, and I've noticed in our Development box, that the job SWWERRE is canceling itself... ie: it ends with status 'CANCELLED'
Below is the Job Log...

In our QA environment, this job finishes normally, and the Job Log says...
[cid:image003.jpg at 01C977C2.A7EDA560]
I've started debugging, and noticed that this job is calling a custom rule resolution function and that function is not finding any agents (due to missing import params).
So the key is the Agent Not Found error message.

I was hoping somebody could save me days of class-debugging and bleeding eyes if they had already had this issue and resolved it?

Thanks,
Sue
