Compensation Management Workflow

I have a requirement in which I have to design a Workflow on Compensation Management. I could find that there is a standard Workflow WS21300038. This Workflow gets triggered from Portal. Now my requirement is the Workflow should get triggered when the Status of Compensation Planning changes from 1 to 2. Now how can I accomplish this. I came to know that in order to trigger a custom Workflow I have to do some coding(Event Trigger) in function module HR_ECM_HANDLE_PROCESS_DATA, where the section after the call of form SUBMIT_ALL_RECS is processed.  Any idea of how to accomplish this. I could found that there is a BO bus7020 related to Compensation. I would like to know whether there is any standard method to trigger event through SPRO configuration.
