Wait step-trouble shooting

Hi All,

What  mechanism logically delete the workitem in case of a wait event is
triggered.

I have two parallel branches.

1. Dialog step
2. Wait for event

If the event defined above is triggered in the system then the dialog step
should be logically deleted.

This happens correctly for 80% of all the instances. But 20% are not
logically deleted.

Want to know what mechanism logically delete the workitem/how to check what
made this 20% error.
