Extended Notifications - automatic removal of redundant notifications

No, email is a one-way communication. You could add a short note to this
effect into the notification text.

Hi,

 

It is possible that a single workitem instance will have multiple agents.
An extended notification message will be dispatched to each of the agents of
the workitem.  If one agent reserves/executes the workitem from the
notification link the workitem is immediately annihilated from the inbox of
the other agents.  However, my belief is that the (now redundant)
notifications to the other agents will remain in their email inboxes.  Is it
possible to automatically delete existing email notifications to other
agents once the underlying workitem has been executed?
