EEC6 Requested Start & Resubmission

Hi Rick,

Thanks for checking. I never noticed this working in this way before.
I always assumed "Earliest time at which the work item can be executed"
meant just what it states.
Task can not be executed until deadline is reached. Unless the Deadline
is changed of course.

Well, this explains some intermittent issues I had over the years.
I think I need to take a field trip to my super users and see what other
amazing tricks they know that I do not. LOL

I wonder if SAP considers this to be a bug? I sure did not catch it.

Thanks!

Rick,

It works in the same way in 46C (ie you end Resubmission and it goes to
the inbox) - I just tried it.

	SAP Business Workflow (BC-BMT-WFM)

Earliest time at which the work item can be executed.

A dialog work item appears in the Business Workplaces of its
recipients when the requested start is reached if the work item is
already available for processing.

If the dialog work item is not created until after the requested
start, it appears immediately in the Business Workplaces of its
recipients.

With background work items, execution starts when the requested
start is reached at the earliest.

	Hi all,

Something has just brought to my attention and was never aware
of the functionality!

We have tasks that have "Requested Start" deadlines.
Task starts and goes into wait.
But, users can just go into SBWP, in the Resubmission folder,
end resubmission, and execute the tasks! This a bug?
I do not want user executing task until the deadline!

I DO NOT recall this working this way in 4.6c.

Below is the help text from the task builder for "Requested
Start" describing how it functionality and
I see nothing in the help files that indicate it can be picked
up from the Resubmission folder and
	executed BEFORE the start date.

	>How Does the Requested Start Work?
	>If the requested start for a dialog work item is reached, the
work item is placed in the Workflow Inboxes of the recipients.
	>If the requested start for a background is reached, the
workflow system starts automatically with the execution of the work
item.
	>Whether the requested start has been reached is checked by the
background job for missed deadline that is run periodically.
